After the success of Kaavalan, Ilayathalapathy Vijay is ready with another action comedy film titled as
Velayudham. The film is directed by M.Raja and has Genelia D’Souza and Hansika Motwani as the female leads.
Vijay plays the role of a village youth name Vetrivel who leads a happy life with his sister played by Saranya
Mohan. His love interest is Vaidehi played by Hansika Motwani. Needing money for his sister’s marriage,
Vetrivel travels to Chennai where he meets a journalist named Deepa played by Genelia D’Souza. His life takes a
turn when he is forced to take law into his own hands under the mask of a superhero character named ‘Velayudham’.
Velayudham is produced by V.Ravichandran under the banner of Aascar Films. Vijay Antony has composed the
music for the film and Priyan has handled the camera for the film.
Velayudham is releasing on August 31, 2011.
